And the king said to Chusai: Is the young man Absalom safe? And Chusai answering him, said: Let the enemies of my lord, the king, and all that rise against him unto evil, be as the young man is.


And God said to him: And I know that thou didst it with a sincere heart: and therefore I withheld thee from sinning against me, and I suffered thee not to touch her.


For we know him that hath said: Vengeance belongeth to me, and I will repay. And again: The Lord shall judge his people.


Thou art beautiful above the sons of men: grace is poured abroad in thy lips; therefore hath God blessed thee for ever


And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Juda that are in Babylon, saying: The Lord make thee like Sedecias and like Achab whom the king of Babylon fried in the fire:

And David said: As the Lord liveth, unless the Lord shall strike him: or his day shall come to die: or he shall go down to battle and perish.


He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness: because no man shall prevail by his own strength.


Jonathan therefore made a covenant with the house of David: and the Lord required it at the hands of David's enemies.


She will render him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.
