11 Now a certain old prophet dwelt in Bethel: and his sons came to him and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel. And they told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.

And he said: Let him alone, let no man move his bones. So his bones were left untouched with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.


But had a check of his madness, the dumb beast used to the yoke, which speaking with man's voice, forbade the folly of the prophet.


But if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?


Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name?


Even the prophets of Israel that prophesy to Jerusalem and that see visions of peace for her: and there is no peace, saith the Lord God.


Son of man, prophesy thou against the prophets of Israel that prophesy. And thou shalt say to them that prophesy out of their own heart: Hear ye the word of the Lord.


And behold, men passing by saw the dead body cast in the way, and the lion standing by the body. And they came and told it in the city, wherein that old prophet dwelt.


And all that had known him yesterday and the day before, seeing that he was with the prophets, and prophesied, said to each other: What is this that hath happened to the son of Cis? Is Saul also among the prophets?


And lifting up his eyes, he saw Israel abiding in their tents by their tribes. And the spirit of God rushing upon him,


So he departed by another way, and returned not by the way that he came into Bethel.


And their father said to them: What way went he? His sons shewed him the way by which the man of God went, who came out of Juda.
