Blessed is the man that heareth me, and that watcheth daily at my gates, and waiteth at the posts of my doors.


The queen of the south shall rise in the judgment with the men of this generation, and shall condemn them: because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold more than Solomon here.


But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God, and keep it.


He that walketh with the wise, shall be wise: a friend of fools shall become like to them.


The lips of the just teach many: but they that are ignorant, shall die in the want of understanding.


Concerning thy words, and concerning thy wisdom. And I did not believe them that told me, till I came myself, and saw with my own eyes, and have found that the half hath not been told me. Thy wisdom and thy works exceed the fame which I heard.


Hast thou seen a man swift in his work? he shall stand before kings, and shall not be before those that are obscure.


Behold, I dwell in Masphath, that I may answer the commandment of the Chaldeans that are sent to us: but as for you, gather ye the vintage and the harvest and the oil, and lay it up in your vessels, and abide in your cities which you hold.


King Roboam took counsel with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived. And he said: What counsel do you give me, that I may answer this people?
