I, the Lord, have put a curse on those who turn from me and trust in human strength.


You are in for trouble if you go to Egypt for help, or if you depend on an army of chariots or a powerful cavalry. Instead you should depend on and trust the holy Lord God of Israel.


Even if your army has horses ready for battle, the Lord will always win.


because the Lord our God fights on our side. The Assyrians must rely on human power alone. These words encouraged the army of Judah.


Asa prayed: Lord God, only you can help a powerless army defeat a stronger one. So we depend on you to help us. We will fight against this powerful army to honor your name, and we know that you won't be defeated. You are the Lord our God.


I will make your name famous from now on, and you will be praised forever and ever.


said, “No! We will safely escape on speedy horses.” But those who chase you will be even faster.

Our Lord, those who attack you will be broken in pieces when you fight back with thunder from heaven. You will judge the whole earth and give power and strength to your chosen king.


Can you depend on him to use his great strength and do your heavy work?


You give strength to your people, Lord, and you save and protect your chosen ones.
