Does a lion roar in the forest unless it has caught a victim? Does it growl in its den unless it is eating?

The people themselves cheat and rob; they abuse the poor and take advantage of foreigners.

God was like a bear or a lion waiting in ambush for me;

Cruel people tell lies— they do evil things, and make cruel plans to destroy the poor and needy, even when they beg for justice.

The Lord All-Powerful says, “You have crushed my people and rubbed in the dirt the faces of the poor.”

A ruler who mistreats the poor is like a roaring lion or a bear hunting for food.

Cheat the poor to make profit or give gifts to the rich— either way you lose.

If you mistreat the poor, you insult your Creator; if you are kind to them, you show him respect.

Those proud people have hidden traps and nets to catch me as I walk.

But you, Lord, tell them, “I will do something! The poor are mistreated and helpless people moan. I'll rescue all who suffer.”

But please don't do what they say. More than 40 men are going to attack Paul. They have made a vow not to eat or drink anything until they have killed him. Even now they are waiting to hear what you decide.”

Then an enemy comes along and takes them captive with hooks and nets. It makes him so happy

A hunter traps birds and puts them in a cage, but some of you trap humans and make them your slaves.
