23 When Balaam's donkey saw the angel standing there with a sword, it walked off the road and into an open field. Balaam had to beat the donkey to get it back on the road.

Now they are in for real trouble. They have followed Cain's example and have made the same mistake that Balaam did by caring only for money. They have also rebelled against God, just as Korah did. Because of all this, they will be destroyed.


But a donkey corrected him for this evil deed. It spoke to him with a human voice and made him stop his foolishness.


Those who were traveling with me saw the light, but did not hear the voice.


Although the people who were with me did not see the vision, they became so frightened that they scattered and hid.


Storks, doves, swallows, and thrushes all know when it's time to fly away for the winter and when to come back. But you, my people, don't know what I demand.
