He doesn't need help from anyone. He gives life, breath, and everything else to all people.


You know our Lord Jesus Christ treated us with undeserved grace by giving up all his riches, so you could become rich.


The Father loves the Son and has given him everything.


And you gave him power over all people, so he would give eternal life to everyone you give him.


The earth and everything on it, including its people, belong to the Lord. The world and its people belong to him.


Because King Artaxerxes was so kind, Ezra said: Praise the Lord God of our ancestors! He made sure that the king honored the Lord's temple in Jerusalem.


Many people felt that the Lord God wanted them to help rebuild his temple, and they made plans to go to Jerusalem. Among them were priests, Levites, and leaders of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin.


I am grateful that God made Titus care as much about you as we do.


Years ago the Lord sent Jeremiah with a message about a promise for the people of Israel. Then in the first year that Cyrus was king of Persia, the Lord kept his promise by telling Cyrus to send this official message to all parts of his kingdom:


“Go to the town of Zarephath in Sidon and live there. I've told a widow in that town to give you food.”


God had encouraged some young men to become followers of Saul, and when he returned to his hometown of Gibeah, they went with him.


Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father who created all the lights in the heavens. He is always the same and never makes dark shadows by changing.


He told them, “Go into the next village, where you will at once find a donkey and her colt. Untie the two donkeys and bring them to me.


So God's promise came true, just as the prophet had said,
