“Who touched me?” Jesus asked. While everyone was denying it, Peter said, “Master, people are crowding all around and pushing you from every side.”


As they came near the gate of the town, they saw people carrying out the body of a widow's only son. Many people from the town were walking along with her.


Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die.


Jesus went with Jairus. Many people followed along and kept crowding around.


The Lord said, “Ezekiel, I will soon destroy the temple that makes everyone feel proud and safe, and I will take away their children as well.


“Ezekiel, son of man, I will suddenly take the life of the person you love most. But I don't want you to complain or cry.


Life is short and meaningless, and it fades away like a shadow. Who knows what is best for us? Who knows what will happen after we are gone?


Born after daybreak, you die before nightfall and disappear forever.


I, the Lord, will make the descendants of David and the people of Jerusalem feel deep sorrow and pray when they see the one they pierced with a spear. They will mourn and weep for him, as parents weep over the death of their only child or their first-born.


Just then the man in charge of the synagogue came and knelt down in front of Jesus. His name was Jairus, and he begged Jesus to come to his home


In the crowd was a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. She had spent everything she had on doctors, but none of them could make her well.
