This kind of wisdom doesn't come from above. It is earthly and selfish and comes from the devil himself.


You should say, “If the Lord lets us live, we will do these things.”


The Lord said: Think about what that crooked judge said.


“This is what happens to people who store up everything for themselves, but are poor in the sight of God.”


For a while the judge refused to do anything. Finally, he said to himself, “Even though I don't fear God or care about people,


Use your powerful arm and rescue me from the hands of mere humans whose world won't last. You provide food for those you love. Their children have plenty, and their grandchildren will have more than enough.


Look at the birds in the sky! They don't plant or harvest. They don't even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren't you worth much more than birds?


and he said to himself, “What can I do? I don't have a place large enough to store everything.”


Then I'll say to myself, ‘You have stored up enough good things to last for years to come. Live it up! Eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.’ ”


Look at the crows! They don't plant or harvest, and they don't have storehouses or barns. But God takes care of them. You are much more important than any birds.


You should know better than to say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to the city. We will do business there for a year and make a lot of money!”
