35 The next morning he gave the innkeeper two silver coins and said, “Please take care of the man. If you spend more than this on him, I will pay you when I return.”

Caring for the poor is lending to the Lord, and you will be well repaid.


When you give a feast, invite the poor, the paralyzed, the lame, and the blind.


Gaius welcomes me and the whole church into his home, and he sends his greetings. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our dear friend Quartus send their greetings too.


After he had agreed to pay them the usual amount for a day's work, he sent them off to his vineyard.


But as this official was leaving, he happened to meet another official, who owed him 100 silver coins. So he grabbed the man by the throat. He started choking him and said, “Pay me what you owe!”


and went over to him. He treated his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put him on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.


Then Jesus asked, “Which one of these three people was a real neighbor to the man who was beaten up by robbers?”
