Those unfaithful prophets misuse their power all over the country. So God turned the pasturelands into scorching deserts.


Cursing, dishonesty, murder, robbery, unfaithfulness— these happen all the time. Violence is everywhere.


Everyone burns with desire— they are like coals in an oven, ready to burst into flames.


Even your own family has turned against you. They act friendly, but don't trust them. They're out to get you, and so is everyone else.


Whenever I complain to you, Lord, you are always fair. But now I have questions about your justice. Why is life easy for sinners? Why are they successful?


You people aren't faithful to God! Don't you know if you love the world, you are God's enemies? And if you decide to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.


You people in Judah and Jerusalem have been unfaithful to the Lord. You have disgraced the temple that he loves, and you have committed the disgusting sin of marrying the worshipers of other gods.


Jerusalem's prophets are proud and not to be trusted. The priests have disgraced the place of worship and abused God's Law.


At a place named Adam, you betrayed me by breaking our agreement.


You have been unfaithful to me, your Lord; you have had children by prostitutes. So at the New Moon Festival, you and your crops will be destroyed.


In every way, Judah and Israel have been unfaithful to me. *


Do you know why your clothes were torn off and you were abused? It was because of your terrible sins.


You rich people are violent, and everyone tells lies.


And why isn't God pleased? It's because he knows that each of you men has been unfaithful to the wife you married when you were young. You promised that she would be your partner, but now you have broken that promise.


After a while the people of Joshua's generation died, and the next generation did not know the Lord or any of the things he had done for Israel.


Your talk is filled with lies and plans for violence; every finger on your hands is covered with blood.


I heard the Lord say, “My people ignore me. They are foolish children who do not understand that they will be punished. All they know is how to sin.”


“Search Jerusalem for honest people who try to be faithful. If you can find even one, I'll forgive the whole city.
