Jeremiah 17:9
23 পৰস্পৰ সংযোগসমূহ

Out of your heart come evil thoughts, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, vulgar deeds, stealing, telling lies, and insulting others.

It's terribly unfair for the same thing to happen to each of us. We are mean and foolish while we live, and then we die.

Only fools would trust what they alone think, but if you live by wisdom, you will do all right.

My friends, watch out! Don't let evil thoughts or doubts make any of you turn from the living God.

The Lord saw how bad the people on earth were and that everything they thought and planned was evil.

The smell of the burning offering pleased the Lord, and he said: Never again will I punish the earth for the sinful things its people do. All of them have evil thoughts from the time they are young, but I will never destroy everything that breathes, as I did this time.

All of them have stubborn minds! They refuse to listen; they cover their eyes. They cannot see or hear or understand. If they could, they would turn to me, and I would heal them.”

And you have done even worse! You are stubborn, and instead of obeying me, you do whatever evil comes to your mind.

I have sinned and done wrong since the day I was born.

Jesus heard them and answered, “Healthy people don't need a doctor, but sick people do. I didn't come to invite good people to be my followers. I came to invite sinners.”

They know about God, but they don't honor him or even thank him. Their thoughts are useless, and their stupid minds are in the dark.

Sin used this command to trick me, and because of it I died.

You were told that your foolish desires will destroy you and that you must give up your old way of life with all its bad habits.

The letter said: “Put Uriah on the front line where the fighting is the worst. Then pull the troops back from him, so that he will be wounded and die.”

Why be punished more? Why not give up your sin? Your head is badly bruised, and you are weak all over.

From your head to your toes there isn't a healthy spot. Bruises, cuts, and open sores go without care or oil to ease the pain.

“Make these people stubborn! Make them stop up their ears, cover their eyes, and fail to understand. Don't let them turn to me and be healed.”

But God will shoot his arrows and quickly wound them.

But your ancestors refused to listen. They were stubborn, and whenever I wanted them to go one way, they always went the other.
