Genesis 5:5
21 পৰস্পৰ সংযোগসমূহ

We each must die and disappear like water poured out on the ground. But God doesn't take our lives. Instead, he figures out ways of bringing us back when we run away.

You will sweat all your life to earn a living; you were made out of soil, and you will once again turn into soil.”

The lives of all people belong to me—parents as well as children. However, only those who sin will be put to death.

So our bodies return to the earth, and the life-giving breath returns to God.

You will be afraid to climb up a hill or walk down a road. Your hair will turn as white as almond blossoms. You will feel lifeless and drag along like an old grasshopper. We each go to our eternal home, and the streets here are filled with those who mourn.

We know we will die, but the dead don't know a thing. Nothing good will happen to them—they are gone and forgotten.

We can expect seventy years, or maybe eighty, if we are healthy, but even our best years bring trouble and sorrow. Suddenly our time is up, and we disappear.

No one can escape the power of death and the grave.

Soon he will send me home to the world of the dead, where we all must go.

Be completely faithful to the Lord your God, love him, and do whatever he tells you. The Lord is the only one who can give life, and he will let you live a long time in the land that he promised to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

When Seth was 105, he had a son named Enosh.

Adam was the father of Seth, and his descendants were Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, and Noah, who had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
