But you warned us that we could never see you again, unless our youngest brother came with us.


They were especially sad because Paul had told them, “You will never see me again.” Then they went with him to the ship.


I have gone from place to place, preaching to you about God's kingdom, but now I know that none of you will ever see me again.


With my own eyes I have seen the suffering of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groans and have come down to rescue them. Now I am sending you back to Egypt.”


Absalom answered, “You didn't pay any attention when I sent for you. I want you to ask my father why he told me to come back from Geshur. I was better off there. I want to see my father now! If I'm guilty, let him kill me.”


Absalom lived in Jerusalem for two years without seeing his father.

until finally, Jacob's family had eaten all the grain they had bought in Egypt. So Jacob said to his sons, “Go back and buy some more grain.”
