and he carried his cross to a place known as “The Skull.” In Aramaic this place is called “Golgotha.”


Christ carried the burden of our sins. He was nailed to the cross, so we would stop sinning and start living right. By his cuts and bruises you are healed.


So God's promise came true, just as the prophet Isaiah had said, “He healed our diseases and made us well.”


All of us were like sheep that had wandered off. We had each gone our own way, but the Lord gave him the punishment we deserved.


He told his servants, “Stay here with the donkey, while my son and I go over there to worship. We will come back.”


Elijah then said to Elisha, “Now the Lord wants me to go to the Jordan River, but you must stay here.” Elisha replied, “I swear by the living Lord and by your own life that I will never leave you!” So the two of them walked on together.
