There is plenty of land for you to choose from. Let's separate. If you go north, I'll go south; if you go south, I'll go north.”


Respect everyone and show special love for God's people. Honor God and respect the Emperor.


Some people have given up the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord's coming is getting closer.


Don't desert an old friend of your family or visit your relatives when you are in trouble. A friend nearby is better than relatives far away.


I choose as my friends everyone who worships you and follows your teachings.


Your people are wonderful, and they make me happy,


After Abram and Lot had gone their separate ways, the Lord said to Abram: Look around to the north, south, east, and west.


When they were outside, one of the angels said, “Run for your lives! Don't even look back. And don't stop in the valley. Run to the hills, where you'll be safe.”


This happened before the Lord had destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. And when Lot looked around, he saw there was plenty of water in the Jordan Valley. All the way to Zoar the valley was as green as the garden of the Lord or the land of Egypt.


Abram stayed in the land of Canaan. But Lot settled near the cities of the valley and put up his tents not far from Sodom,


The eastern border will begin on the border between the two kingdoms of Hauran and Damascus. It will run south along the Jordan River, which separates the territories of Gilead and Israel, and it will end at the Dead Sea near the town of Tamar.
