8 Once, while Elisha was in the town of Shunem, he met a rich woman who invited him to her home for dinner. After that, whenever he was in Shunem, he would have a meal there with her and her husband.

They begged him, “Stay with us! It's already late, and the sun is going down.” So Jesus went into the house to stay with them.


Age is no guarantee of wisdom and understanding.


He owned 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 pair of oxen, 500 donkeys, and a large number of servants. He was the richest person in the East.


But Lot kept insisting, until they finally agreed and went home with him. He quickly baked some bread, cooked a meal, and they ate.


They looked everywhere in Israel until they found a very beautiful young woman named Abishag, who lived in the town of Shunem. They brought her to David, and she took care of him. But David did not have sex with her.


Barzillai was 80 years old. He was very rich and had sent food to David in Mahanaim.


The old man said, “You are welcome to spend the night in my home and to be my guest, but don't stay out here!”


Then after she and her family were baptized, she kept on begging us, “If you think I really do have faith in the Lord, come stay in my home.” Finally, we accepted her invitation.


Your son will be a great servant of the Lord. He must never drink wine or beer, and the power of the Holy Spirit will be with him from the time he is born.


And so, she tricked him with all of her sweet talk and her flattery.


One day while the boy was still young, he was out in the fields with his father, where the workers were harvesting the crops.


The Philistines went to Shunem and set up camp. Saul called the army of Israel together, and they set up their camp in Gilboa.


His master then told him, “Go out along the back roads and make people come in, so my house will be full.


The servant who had 2,000 coins did the same with his money and earned 2,000 more.
