One day, Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money that has been given to the Lord's temple, whether from taxes or gifts,


One day in your temple is better than a thousand anywhere else. I would rather serve in your house, than live in the homes of the wicked.


One hundred seventy-two temple guards settled in Jerusalem; their leaders were Akkub and Talmon.


Solomon then assigned the priests and the Levites their duties at the temple, and he followed the instructions that his father, the man of God, had given him. Some of the Levites were to lead music and help the priests in their duties, and others were to guard the temple gates


Shallum son of Kore, as well as the other men in the Korahite clan, guarded the entrance to the temple, just as their ancestors had guarded the entrance to the sacred tent.


They called out to Hezekiah, and three of his highest officials came out to meet them. One of them was Hilkiah's son Eliakim, who was the prime minister. The other two were Shebna, assistant to the prime minister, and Joah son of Asaph, keeper of the government records.


and use it to repair the temple whenever you see the need.”
