Jeroboam died and was buried, and his son Zechariah became king.


After his death the people of Judah made his son Azariah king, even though he was only 16 at the time.


Azariah son of Amaziah became king of Judah in Jeroboam's twenty-seventh year as king of Israel.


Azariah died and was buried beside his ancestors in Jerusalem. His son Jotham then became king.


Like his ancestors, Zechariah disobeyed the Lord by following the evil ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused the Israelites to sin.


Shallum became king of Israel in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah's rule in Judah. But only one month after Shallum became king,


Menahem became king of Israel in Azariah's thirty-ninth year as king of Judah, and he ruled Israel ten years from Samaria.


Pekahiah became king of Israel in the fiftieth year of Azariah's rule in Judah, and he ruled two years from Samaria.


In time of civil war there are many leaders, but a sensible leader restores law and order.


Then the Lord said, “Hosea, name your son Jezreel, because I will soon punish the descendants of King Jehu of Israel for the murders he committed in Jezreel Valley. I will destroy his kingdom,


Their sacred places will be destroyed, and I will send war against the nation of King Jeroboam.”


Later the Lord said, “Jehu, you have done right by destroying Ahab's entire family, just as I had planned. So I will make sure that the next four kings of Israel will come from your own family.”
