19 পৰস্পৰ সংযোগসমূহ

This shows that the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their sufferings and to punish evil people while they wait for the day of judgment.

Dear friends, if we feel at ease in the presence of God, we will have the courage to come near him.

We can be proud of our clear conscience. We have always lived honestly and sincerely, especially when we were with you. And we were guided by God's gift of undeserved grace instead of by the wisdom of this world.

and said: David, you're a better person than I am. You treated me with kindness, even though I've been cruel to you.

Your Majesty, look at what I'm holding. You can see that it's a piece of your robe. If I could cut off a piece of your robe, I could have killed you. But I let you live, and that should prove I'm not trying to harm you or to rebel. I haven't done anything to you, and yet you keep trying to ambush and kill me.

and said: Your Majesty, why do you listen to people who say that I'm trying to harm you?

Let me ask this. Have I ever taken anyone's ox or donkey or forced you to give me anything? Have I ever hurt anyone or taken a bribe to give an unfair decision? Answer me so the Lord and his chosen king can hear you. And if I have done any of these things, I will give it all back.

“My father can't be trying to kill you! He never does anything without telling me about it. Why would he hide this from me? It can't be true!”

Cruel strangers have attacked and want me dead. Not one of them cares about you.

One day, Saul told his son Jonathan and his officers to kill David. But Jonathan and David were best friends,

Meanwhile, David went to Samuel at Ramah and told him what Saul had done. Then Samuel and David went to Prophets Village and stayed there.

“Why do you want to kill David?” Jonathan asked. “What has he done?”

I'll let the Lord decide which one of us has done right. I pray that the Lord will punish you for what you're doing to me, but I won't do anything to you.

Why are you hunting me down? Have I done something wrong, or have I committed a crime?
