And he said to man, "Behold the fear of the Lord. Such is wisdom. And to withdraw from evil, this is understanding."


The sinner will see and become angry. He will gnash his teeth and waste away. The desire of sinners will perish.


Let us all listen together to the end of the discourse. Fear God, and observe his commandments. This is everything for man.


The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of holiness is prudence.


The fear of the Lord is the discipline of wisdom. And humility precedes glory.


The foolish do not accept words of prudence, unless you say what is already turning in his heart.


"Little ones, how long will you choose to be childish, and how long will the foolish desire what is harmful to themselves, and how long will the imprudent hate knowledge?


And since they did not prove to have God by knowledge, God handed them over to a morally depraved way of thinking, so that they might do those things which are not fitting:


A fool laughs at the discipline of his father. But whoever preserves rebukes will become astute. In abundant justice, there is very great virtue. But the intentions of the impious will be eradicated.


And you shall observe and fulfill these in practice. For this is your wisdom and understanding in the sight of the peoples, so that, upon hearing all these precepts, they may say: 'Lo, a wise and understanding people, a great nation.'


then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will discover the knowledge of God.


Whoever rejects discipline despises his own soul. But whoever agrees to correction is a possessor of the heart.


Do not speak into the ears of the unwise. They will despise the doctrine of your eloquence.
