But they were saying this to test him, so that they might be able to accuse him. Then Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the earth.


and because he had no need of anyone to offer testimony about a man. For he knew what was within a man.


But when Jesus realized their thoughts, responding, he said to them: "What are you thinking in your hearts?


And I will put her sons to death, and all the Churches shall know that I am the one who examines temperaments and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. But I say to you,


And Peter said to her: "Why have you agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they shall carry you out!"


But realizing their deceitfulness, he said to them: "Why do you test me?


And behold, a certain expert in the law rose up, testing him and saying, "Teacher, what must I do to possess eternal life?"


But Jesus, perceiving the thoughts of their hearts, took a child and stood him beside him.


And again, he sent another, and him they killed, and many others: some they beat, but others they killed.


At once, Jesus, realizing in his spirit that they were thinking this within themselves, said to them: "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?


And the Pharisees approached him, testing him, and saying, "Is it lawful for a man to separate from his wife, no matter what the cause?"


But Jesus, knowing this, withdrew from there. And many followed him, and he cured them all.


Therefore, tell us, how does it seem to you? Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar, or not?"


Show me the coin of the census tax." And they offered him a denarius.
