Now certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were arguing with him. And some were saying, "What does this sower of the Word want to say?" Yet others were saying, "He seems to be an announcer for new demons." For he was announcing to them Jesus and the Resurrection.


At first, his disciples did not realize these things. But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that these things happened to him.


And they went to Capernaum. And when they were in the house, he questioned them, "What did you discuss on the way?"


And Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, "Lord, may it be far from you; this shall not happen to you."


Therefore, his brothers were envious of him. Yet truly, his father considered the matter silently.


And they kept the word to themselves, arguing about what "after he will have risen from the dead" might mean.


And in response, he said to them: "Elijah, when he will arrive first, shall restore all things. And in the manner that it has been written about the Son of man, so must he suffer many things and be condemned.
