Hebrews 2:11 - Catholic Public Domain Version

11 For he who sanctifies, and those who are sanctified, are all from One. For this reason, he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying:

For, by one oblation, he has brought to fulfillment, for all time, those who are sanctified.


For by this will, we have been sanctified, through the one time oblation of the body of Jesus Christ.


Jesus said to her: "Do not touch me. For I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brothers and tell them: 'I am ascending to my Father and to your Father, to my God and to your God.' "


Because of this, Jesus, too, in order to sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered outside the gate.


For those whom he foreknew, he also predestinated, in conformity with the image of his Son, so that he might be the Firstborn among many brothers.


And it is for them that I sanctify myself, so that they, too, may be sanctified in truth.


So may they all be one. Just as you, Father, are in me, and I am in you, so also may they be one in us: so that the world may believe that you have sent me.


And in response, the King shall say to them, 'Amen I say to you, whenever you did this for one of these, the least of my brothers, you did it for me.'


Therefore, because children have a common flesh and blood, he himself also, in like manner, has shared in the same, so that through death, he might destroy him who held the dominion of death, that is, the devil,


But when the fullness of time arrived, God sent his Son, formed from a woman, formed under the law,


And he has made, out of one, every family of man: to live upon the face of the entire earth, determining the appointed seasons and the limits of their habitation,


But now they hunger for a better place, that is, Heaven. For this reason, God is not ashamed to be called their God. For he has prepared a city for them.


For whoever has been ashamed of me and of my words, among this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he will arrive in the glory of his Father, with the holy Angels."


Then Jesus said to them: "Do not be afraid. Go, announce it to my brothers, so that they may go to Galilee. There they shall see me."


'For in him we live, and move, and exist.' Just as some of your own poets have said. 'For we are also of his family.'


For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words: of him the Son of man will be ashamed, when he will have arrived in his majesty and that of his Father and of the holy Angels.


And looking around at those who were sitting all around him, he said: "Behold, my mother and my brothers.


Therefore, holy brothers, sharers in the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus.
