David remained in the wilderness strongholds in the hill country of the Wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God did not give him into his hands.


IN THE Lord I take refuge [and put my trust]; how can you say to me, Flee like a bird to your mountain?


David went up from there and dwelt in the strongholds of En-gedi.


They left and went to the mountain and stayed there three days, until the pursuers returned, who had searched all along the way without finding them.


Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was built into the [town] wall so that she dwelt in the wall.
