May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you as He has promised you!


May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children.


Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead] Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures. [Ps. 119:32.]


In a multitude of people is the king's glory, but in a lack of people is the prince's ruin.


Be of good courage; let us play the man for our people and the cities of our God. And may the Lord do what seems good to Him.


But the king's word prevailed against Joab and the commanders of the army. So they went from the king's presence to number the Israelites.
