He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker; But he that hath mercy on the needy honoreth him.


But whoso hath the world’s goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?


Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.


If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, Or lifted up myself when evil found him


He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth; But he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.


Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.


As for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd after thee; neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was before thy face.


For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.
