Answer
After healing a man with leprosy (Mark 1:41-42), “Jesus sent him away immediately with a stern warning: ‘Make sure you do not tell anyone about this…'” (Mark 1:43-44). While it may seem logical to us that Jesus would want everyone to know about the miracle, He understood that excessive publicity could impede His mission and shift public focus away from His teachings. Mark documents that this is precisely what occurred. The man, in his excitement over his miraculous healing, disobeyed. Consequently, Jesus had to relocate His ministry from the city to the desert regions “But he went out and began to spread the news widely, so that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in deserted places. Yet people still came to Him from all directions.”, (Mark 1:45) “As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to Him from everywhere.”
Moreover, even though Christ had cured the leper, He still instructed him to obey the local law — to promptly go to the priest without delay or getting sidetracked by discussing his healing. There was a risk that if he delayed, malicious individuals might reach the priest first, biasing him against acknowledging the healing as genuine because it was performed by Jesus. It was crucial for the priest to confirm it as a legitimate healing to prevent any skepticism among the Jewish community regarding its authenticity as a true miracle.
Ultimately, Jesus preferred that people focus on the message He preached and the sacrifice He was destined to make, rather than solely on the miracles He performed.
What is true today is that God prefers us to concentrate on the miraculous healing of salvation through Jesus Christ rather than on other healings and/or miracles.
