Why did God create such a vast universe and other planets if there is only life on Earth?

Answer

The inquiry into whether God created life on other planets is undeniably intriguing. Psalm 19:1 states that “the heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork.” Everything that God has created, whether it be humans, animals, angels, or celestial bodies like stars and planets, has been made for His glory. When we witness the awe-inspiring beauty of the Milky Way or observe Saturn through a telescope, we are filled with wonder at the marvels of God!

David expressed in Psalm 8:3, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained.” As we contemplate the countless stars and learn that scientists have identified thousands of galaxies, each containing millions of stars, we should stand in reverent awe of a God so vast that He created all of that and deemed it the work of His fingers! Additionally, Psalm 147:4 informs us that “He counts the number of the stars, He calls them all by name.” It is beyond human comprehension to determine the exact number of stars, let alone assign a “name” to each one! “Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, And My right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call to them, They stand up together” «Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. », (Isaiah 48:13).

Outer space and planets were fashioned for God’s glory. We are aware of the existence of stars and planets beyond our solar system, and these, too, were created for the purpose of glorifying God. The concept of an ever-expanding universe remains a hypothesis that has yet to be substantiated. The nearest star beyond the sun is located at a distance.

4 light-years away, and that isn’t even a measurable fraction of the size of the known universe, expanding or not.

Regarding the existence of life on other planets, we lack certainty. To date, no proof of life on the other planets within our solar system has been discovered. Given the proximity of the end times, it is improbable that humanity will advance sufficiently to explore other galaxies before the Lord’s return. Regardless of the presence or absence of life, God remains the Creator and Controller of all things, and all things were created for His glory.
