We Are Pleasant Aroma

13

For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved… (2 Corinthians 2:15).

In his perfect creativity God provided us with smell sense, to enjoy the wonderful fragrances of the life. There are several scents which are nice to people according to what each one like, such as the fragrance of the ambient when it rains, the smell of some products (shampoo, baby lotion), and also the nice smell of a delicious food.

That’s why we marvel when the apostle Pedro teach us that, our acts of love are as fragrant smell, sacrifice accepted, pleasing to God (Philippians 4:18). When we think of helping those in need, we use to consider it as correct action; even as something that Christ would do. However, Paul affirms that our intentional acts to fulfil. The needs of someone, flood the throne of God with a perfume he likes.

Then Maria took a pound of pure Nard perfume, very expensive; she anointed Christ’s feet and wiped them with her hair, and the house was full of that smell. (John 12:3)

We can delight the Lord with the fragrances of being a blessing for the others. This motivates us to behave every day in a way that our actions are like pleasant fragrance which reaches to God’s presence.

In this world so full of evil, wrapped in the filth of the sin, that your life reflects the grace and God’s love, it’s a blessing. It’s a fragrant work!

…Because this is good and pleasurable in front of God our Savior (Timothy 2:3).
