5 lessons that bees give us

It is surprising the great value of a simple insect like the bee and the great things that humans can learn from it.

1.- They know about leadership

These insects are governed by hierarchies, in each hive there is a queen bee in charge of guiding and putting order.

Like bees, it is important that people learn to value the work of those who have the responsibility to lead, whether in the secular or spiritual realm; remembering that all authority has been imposed by God (Romans 13:1-2).

“We must respect and value those people who represent an authority, since they are the ones responsible for everything to go well.”

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,” Philippians 2:3.

2.- Unity is strength

Bees work as a team, each one plays a vital role and function within the hive that makes the work of the others possible.

Within a ministry there are many members, who develop different functions, but with one same purpose, and that is to make everything work in the correct way within the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12).

“It is necessary to understand that better things can be achieved when working together; There should be no independent members within a church, but all should work for the common welfare of the brothers.”

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up,” Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10.

3.- Mutual care

Although each bee is independent, they are social insects, many of them live together helping and caring for each other.

It is important to value each of the brothers in Christ; as long as we can, we should help them if they are facing any need (James 2: 15-16).

“The children of God must not be indolent in the face of the adverse situation that their brothers may be living; instead, we must value them all equally, it must be important to us and we must be willing to help them.”

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ,” Galatians 6:2.

4.- Tiredness does not exist

These insects are hard-working and tireless, they can make more than 100 trips in a day, pollinating 100 flowers per trip and carrying a quarter of their weight in pollen.

The believer must work with all the tools and talents that God has given him, knowing that it is God who gives him strength (Philippians 4:13). A Christian should make good use of his time, not being lazy but brave and courageous.

“A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied,” Proverbs 13:4.

5.- They do multiple tasks

These insects are multifunctional since they come to fulfill several roles. From cleaning the hive to collecting pollen, each worker bee goes through different tasks that prepare it for the next.

Within a ministry there are many areas of service that require people willing to work, so it is necessary that the believer has the willingness to let himself be used for the benefit of the common good.

“In order to exercise the gifts and talents that God has given us, it is necessary to learn to develop ourselves in different areas, the most important thing is to have a heart ready to serve others.”

“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” Romans 12:11.
