According Alex Mazzara, the topic of pedophilia as a sexual orientation was discussed in class.<\/p>\n

The San Diego student made this public through his Twitter social account.<\/p>\n

According to Mazzara, the class started to discuss about the topic after they were put through watching an eight-minute video from Vice News that featured a \u201cshowcasing\u201d of \u201cself-identified pedophiles.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cAn actual topic we discussed in class today at a State University after watching an 8 minute Vice News video showcasing self identified pedophiles. This is going to be mainstreamed,\u201d tweeted Mazzara.<\/p>\n

Mazzara went on\u00a0to say how some of the students described pedophilia in class.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome people agreed that it was a sexual orientation because they \u201cwere born that way and can\u2019t help it\u201d others disagreed only because they feared that labeling pedophilia a sexual orientation would harm gays and lesbians because they would then be on the same level,\u201d he responded.<\/p>\n

SOME PEOPLE AGREED THAT IT WAS A SEXUAL ORIENTATION BECAUSE THEY \u201cWERE BORN THAT WAY AND CAN\u2019T HELP IT\u201d OTHERS DISAGREED ONLY BECAUSE THEY FEARED THAT LABELING PEDOPHILIA A SEXUAL ORIENTATION WOULD HARM GAYS AND LESBIANS BECAUSE THEY WOULD THEN BE ON THE SAME LEVEL<\/p>\n

Mazzara also tweeted\u00a0that his tweet attracted the anger of a lot of pedophiles, who had been dominating his mentions since the tweet went out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had out and proud pedophiles in my mentions for 2 days now. There are entire communities of these people who promote their filth publicly. Sadly I\u2019d predict this is going mainstream in the next 10 years,\u201d said Mazzara.<\/p>\n
