What is happening in Chile? The terrible situation that has caused protests leaving many people dead and others wounded

On October 8, the president of the nation, Sebastian Piñera said: “In the midst of this convulsed Latin America, Chile is a true oasis with a stable democracy.”

However, the same president said on october 20, “we are at war against a powerful enemy”. Why did he change his mind so quickly? The crisis the nation is now facing.

Protests everywhere, fires, many vandalism acts, and some other criminal acts are part of what the Chilean nation is living. All this chaos made Chile’s government start a curfew.

But why are these people so angry? Because they disagree with some issues the government manifested.

Despite the curfew, millions of Chileans peacefully took their pans and began beating them in protest; even with the presence of military representatives.

It seems that the “stable democracy” the president mentioned a few days ago tears down while people scream “Chile woke up,” on the streets of the nation.
