Venezuelan activist warns that the US can live what Venezuela went through if protests continue

Elizabeth Rogliani Otaola, a Venezuelan activist, has caught the attention of Americans after giving warnings about what may happen if protests continue.

Otaola claims that she “has already lived” what is currently happening in the United States.

“When I was living in Venezuela. The statues came down…Chavez didn’t want all that history displayed and then he changed the street names, then came the school curriculum. Some movies couldn’t be shown on TV channels and so on and so forth,” she explained.

“You guys think it can’t happen to you…I’ve heard this so many times, but always be on guard. Never believe something can’t happen to you. You need to guard your country and your society or it will be destroyed,”  she added.

The activist asked the North American citicenz to “protect their country”, since what Venezuela went through, was thought to never happen. So now American citizens should not say that this cannot happen to them.

A cultural revolution

During a recent appearance on Fox News “The Ingraham Angle,” Otaola warned that it is not just Confederate statues that will be demolished. “Just wait and see,” said Laura Ingraham to the hostess.

There is already evidence to suggest that she is right. Protesters in Washington promise to tear down a statue of former President Abraham Lincoln known as the Emancipation Memorial.

Meanwhile, in Milwaukee, protesters knocked down a statue of Hans Christian Heg, journalist, soldier and staunch anti-slavery activist, and threw it into the water.

“Founding Fathers are going to be attacked. Religious symbols are going to be attacked. And next, probably, museums. I mean, anything can be attacked if you just let it happen. If you just let the first ones come down, then there are no limits to what’s next,” she said.

Otaola concluded her message by arguing that what is happening in the United States is “a cultural revolution” and an “attempt to change the identity of the country.”
