Evangelist Franklin Graham made a publication on his social media account. There, he expressed disappointment about some performances at the halftime show at Super Bowl LVI.
Although it is a secular event where most artists are not Christians, Graham, like many people around the world, expressed their dissatisfaction with the “so exotic” participation of Shakira and JLo.
The evangelist began his writing by saying “I do not expect the world to act like the church.” Then, he continued exhorting the values that are disappearing “before our eyes.“
He also mentioned through his post that this kind of erformances sends a wrong message to girls.
“This exhibition was Pepsi showing young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay.”
“I don’t expect the world to act like the church, but our country has had a sense of moral decency on prime time television in order to protect children. We see that disappearing before our eyes. It was demonstrated tonight in the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show—with millions of children watching. This exhibition was Pepsi showing young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay. With the exploitation of women on the rise worldwide, instead of lowering the standard, we as a society should be raising it. I’m disappointed in Pepsi and the NFL,” he said.
