Police officers pray together for colleague affected by covid-19

Sergeant Raymond Scholwinski has served the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for 26 years. After testing positive for Covid-19, he was taken to the ICU.

On April 15, Scholwinski’s colleagues decided to fight in prayer as he is in critical condition.

Therefore, they gathered in the parking lot outside the police department while adhering to the social distancing protocol, being at least 6 feet away.

Also, everyone wore their face masks. Then everyone with their hands up, raised a powerful prayer to help Sergeant Raymond in the fight against the coronavirus.

The endearing moment included the sergeant’s son urging the prayer warriors to “Keep my father, our family, and health workers in their thoughts and prayers.”

Lt. Shannon Bowdoin led the prayer as he put his hand on Sergeant Raymond’s son. He declared:

«Father, we come to you now, and I come to you in the name of Jesus. And I ask you, Father, to touch this family. Especially, I ask you right now, Lord, to reach down to the hospital room where Ray is right now… And by Your sovereign strength, power and authority, that you touch every cell in his body. I pray Father, you touch Renda and each one of these boys. That you would give them peace, and comfort during these time … »

Although Sergeant Raymond is alone in the ICU room, he is never alone in this battle. What these cops did for their partner is more than just a random act of kindness. Because there is nothing more beautiful and powerful than being in someone’s prayer.
