South African conservatives have been concerned after it became known that the nation’s government is studying a change in legislation, and if it is passed,  women would be allowed to have multiple husbands.

Known as polyandry, this term is part of a document that seeks to make marriage in this nation “more inclusive.”

The population has been given the opportunity for anyone interested in the proposal to contribute their suggestions before the legislation is modified or a new one is created, in such cases.

However, polyandry is not the most controversial within the document, as it has also been proposed that the new marriage law may have a neutral approach, that is, that all types of couples can unite regardless of their race, religion, culture and even sexual orientation.

In the world, South Africa is one of the countries with one of the most liberal constitutions, allowing things like polygamy for men and same-sex marriages.

Currently, as the nation is considering updating its laws regarding civil unions, the possibility of legalizing polyandry is being considered, so that women could  have more than one husband.

Obviously, this is causing controversy and certain conflict since conservative communities and organizations (those that adhere to what is morally correct) do not agree with the law, since it is considered an offense to the faith and an atrocity to the design of God for couples and romantic unions.
