Pastor dies in front of church members while preaching (VIDEO)

Recently, a South African pastor died after collapsing while preaching in his church to dozens of people on a Sunday morning service.

 The Reverend of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Bassie Jackals, died on January 19, according to images circulating on social media.

In the video, you can see the pastor sitting in the front of the church while he preaches and the church members around him seemed to enjoy the message.

However, while the minister seems to faint, the members of the congregation applaud thinking that it is part of the sermon. But when the body of the pastor falls down to the floor, the church members realized something was wrong with him.

According to local media information, People rushed Jackals to the hospital, but doctors soon declared him dead.

The minister’s autopsy revealed that he died from high blood pressure, as he suffered from diabetes.

«I pray that the family and the parishioners will recover from this. #RIP Reverend Jackals. In fact, you have fought the good fight, ”wrote a user on social media about the video.

With just 42 years at the time of his death, the pastor leaves his wife, Puleng Christina Jackals, and four daughters.

A wake up call

Pastor and author Walter Mwambazi reflected on Jackals’ life on the Facebook.

“He served as a vibrant and dedicated pastor of various congregations of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and was later given an added responsibility to become a Presiding Elder in the church,” Mwambazi said.

“Passionate about lifting the souls of people through preaching and praise, he led various organisations till his untimely passing,” he added.

For Mwambazi, the reverend’s death should be a “wake-up call” for other pastors; in order to rest and delegate tasks to others.

« So, the death of this man of God should serve us all as a wake up call – please rest! Take time off, have a break please please please! And find a way to share your responsibility and delegate. Raise lieutenants to help you with His work. It is His work after all, you and I are just vessels,” worte the pastor and author in the post.
