Over 53,000 cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours breaks U.S. infection record

As a new record, the U.S. has broken the largest number of Covid-19 infections by registering more than 53,000 cases in one day.

Last week alone, the U.S. set a record of 40,000 infections in a single day.

Specifically, 532,069  Covid-19 cases were recorded in one day throughout the country, leading to figures that are too alarming for a country that has suffered various situations that strike its current society.

According to the latest balance sheet offered by Johns Hopkins University, the number of deaths has risen to 128,677, adding some 649 more in the last 24 hours.

With this figure, the US broke its own record last week, with 40,000 people from 6 different states.

However, New York remains as the most affected state with 349,954 confirmed Covid-19 cases, about 32,064 deaths, almost equal to countries like Brazil, the United Kingdom and Italy.

After NY, there are the states of New Jersey, Massachusetts and Illinois with 15,000, 8,000 and 6,000 deaths each.

According to a balance from the White House, it was estimated that the deaths were an average of 100,000 and 240,000 deaths, which was below the recorded this new flood of Coronavirus infections in the country.

Health institutions estimate that in the month of October alone the number could reach 175 people dead, without adding the carriers of the virus.

The country’s presidential palace warned that “measures must be taken to curb the numbers thrown up by this new Covid-19 peak.”

“Now we’re getting 40,000 new cases a day. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get to 100,000 a day if this doesn’t change,” White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci said at a Senate meeting.

“Clearly we’re going in the wrong direction. Clearly right now we don’t have total control. I’m very concerned that things could get really bad,” he warned.

The U.S. does not report an official figure from both sides affected by Covid-19, so only reports and estimates from medical institutions around the country emerge.
