Christians are still suffering persecution in India. One recent case of persecution was recently reported.
According to Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), Hindu radicals killed another Christian man.
On 7 June, the group attacked and murdered Kande Mudu, 27, in Bari village, Khunti District, Jharkhand.
Mudu had converted to Christianity four years ago. He and his family were the only Christians in their community. For this reason, they started receiveing death threats.
Two years ago, this Christian family survived one violent attack. However, they attacks against Madu continued to the point of taking his life.
Mob got into Mudu’s house by breking the front door. They attacked him with weapons and cut his throat.
Mudu’s wife, Bindu, told CSW, “After hearing the men at the front door, my husband knew that our lives were in danger and that the men had bad intentions.”
According to Mudu’s wifie, during the attack, he reportedly told her, “He might be killed but assured her to remain strong and never to give up her faith in Jesus even if they killed him.”
Although authorities have not arrested any suspects for the terrible event, they opened an investigation.
CSW’s Chief Executive Mervyn Thomas expressed his condolences for what happened
“Our deepest prayers and condolences go out to Mr. Mudu’s wife, Bindu, and his family for the loss of a husband, father, and son. Mr. Mudu was murdered on account of his faith,” he said.
“We at CSW are increasingly concerned by the relentless harassment, discrimination, and suffering that Christians in India face, simply for exercising their right to practice a religion that is different from the majority of their fellow citizens. India’s constitution clearly states that ‘all persons are equally entitled to freedom of conscience and the right to freely profess, practice, and propagate religion,” he added.
