Israel put its embassies around the world “on high alert” in the face of threats of an Iranian attack

Israel alerted all its embassies in the world for fear of promises of revenge from Iran, which has accused it of the death of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh this Friday in an ambush outside Tehran.

Israel put its embassies around the world “on high alert” in the face of threats of an Iranian attack.

Jewish communities around the world are also taking precautions, according to Israeli media. For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem has refused to issue comments on security issues.

Fajrizadeh was killed in an attack in Tehran province, following at least one explosion and shots being fired at his vehicle by an unknown number of armed men. Iranian President Hasan Rohani warned today that his country will respond “at the right time and in the right way”, while accusing Israel of wanting to “create chaos.”

Fajrizadeh, 63, was an officer in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and a professor of physics at Imam Hussein University in Tehran. According to a report by the United Nations Security Council, Fajrizadeh held the position of Senior Scientist in the Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Armed Forces and had previously been director of the Physical Research Center (PHRC).

Numerous leaders of the Islamist regime accuse Israel of the death of Fakhrizadeh, considered by Western intelligence agencies as the genius of Iran’s former military nuclear project. The highest authorities of the Islamic Republic have promised to avenge his death.

The death takes place in the final days of US President Donald Trump in the White House. Trump has led an aggressive policy against Iran; being Israel his main partner in the region, before being replaced in January by Democrat Joe Biden.

On the other hand, the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has ordered the authorities of the country to punish the material and intellectual authors of the murder. For now, the Iranian authorities have not reported any arrests in connection with the attack, nor have they disclosed whether the perpetrators killed in it.
