Hillsong Raises $ 1 Million For Australian Bushfires

Australia is facing a hard time. Blazes, which began last fall, destroyed people’s lives with 25 people dead and also destroyed thousands of homes.

Many are giving a helping hand to the Australian nation. Some celebrities pronounced in regards to the tragedy and decided donating millions of dollars to fire fighting services.

The Hillsong Church also decided to collaborate. They raised over $1 million for bushfires relief efforts in the nation.

Hillsong’s senior pastor Brian Houston shared the announcement through social media saying that his church has raised $1 million to help with Australian bushfire relief.

Besides the announcement of Houston, the Church shared on its website Friday in an update about their relief efforts.

“The outpouring of love, care and concern and generosity from people from all walks of life both here and overseas, has been staggering and humbling.”

“As a church community we have come together over the past few weeks and extended generosity to those suffering and the emergency service workers who are giving up their holidays to work tirelessly to protect homes, land and families in the path of the fires.”

The Church also encouraged people and christian communities to continue praying for the Australian nation.

“Please continue to pray for our nation, our leaders, firefighters and communities affected and for rain that will end the drought in our scorched land,” the church said.

People gathered at Sydney Int Airport received the US firefighters with spontaneous & lengthy round of applause.
