Hailey Bieber reveals the importance of faith in her marriage and how Hillsong church attracted her to God

Supermodel Hailey Baldwin, known today as Hailey Bieber, recently talked about her Christian faith and how it has a great influence on her marriage relationship with singer Justin Bieber in the March 2020 issue of Elle magazine.

Bieber and Baldwin met for the first time when the model’s father introduced them both.

When she was only 19 years old, they tried dating, but their lives “were going in very different directions”, she explained to Elle. Both would meet again while attending a conference in a church.

Justin and Hailey changed a lot since the last time they met; but she gives all the credit to their mutual belief in God as what led them to become husband and wife.

“Being able to share that with each other—to have that bond of faith and spirituality—is so [critical] for us. It’s the most important part of our relationship, following Jesus together, being a part of the church community together. It’s everything,” said the model.

During the interview, the 23-year-old girl revealed that she grew up attending a non-religious church, but was not really interested in her parents’ faith.

Everything changed when she moved to New York

“As I got older, it got harder to follow church and the Bible because it felt very adult. I don’t want to sound wrong, but it was boring. I didn’t care about it anymore, until I found a church I felt was geared toward young people”, she explained. “And for me, that was the Hillsong Church in New York City” said Hailey.

She began attending the congregation and realized that she felt good; “It started to feel like my own little community of people who were also young and following God and just immersed in a church community,” Hailey said.

“Then I developed my own relationship to church and my own relationship with God, separate from being raised that way by my parents.”

As for Justin, many people have seen the change that faith has generated in his life and has witnessed it several times.

In a past interview with Vogue magazine, before committing, he said that he and his future wife would wait until the wedding night to have sex; since he had promised God that he would live a chaste life after fighting a sex addiction.

 

Currently, they are attending couple therapy and are meet regularly with their friends and church pastors.
