My faith helped me find the truth and my courage,’ says model Ashley Graham

The successful plus size model Ashley Graham, has open the doors in the world of the fashion for the women with curves. What many don’t know is that she was formed in a Christian home, but she ended up moving away from God in her career.

‘When I moved to New York, I walked away from God. Then I realized that to live here, you need something to keep you motivated or you go crazy,’ he told UK magazine Elle.

‘I believe that faith is something that definitely helped me through the difficult times of fashion. It helped me through difficult times with my confidence about my body and the terrible decisions I made. My faith is something that has brought me back to find the truth and my value, ‘said the model in another interview.

At the church @theashleygraham met her husband, Justin Ervin, in 2009. ‘Some Sunday, my volunteer function was to stay in the elevator, welcoming people, delivering a candy and pressing the button to the eighth floor. When two tall men came in, I did not show any reaction. One of them hit the other and said ‘If you won’t talk to her, I will’. His friend left the elevator, but he stayed,’ she says.

‘I shrugged. This guy was not my type,’ she recalls. ‘But there was something delicate about Justin, I was at church, so I had to be polite. He seemed to be watching my soul when we spoke. He was intelligent, funny and had traveled the world. Then I agreed to go out for a coffee.’
