Dorian: Category 5 hurricane shows its power with destructive fury

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) showed another advisory as Hurricane Dorian intensified again. This is the fifth Category 5 hurricane sustained in the last five years.

Authorities advise people to take immediate shelter; due this is a life-threatening situation.

In the same way, the NHC urges: “Do not venture into the eye if it passes over your location. These hazards will cause extreme destruction in the affected areas, and will continue for several hours.”

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km). The eye of the hurricane is now 25 nautical miles across.

 Hurricane Dorian is causing huge damage in the Bahamas, after strengthening to a Category 5 storm last Sunday.

Videos and pictures posted to social media show the hurricane overwhelming beaches with massive waves.

You can also see entire houses under water, trees and debris floating on the water due to flooding.
