CRUELTY AND HARASSMENT !! More than 2000 Buddhists Destroy Christian Church in Sri Lanka

Christians in Sri Lanka, the main Buddhist country in South Asia, are facing a new wave of persecution. Despite the peace speech, some 30 Buddhist monks, along with a part of the population of Devinuwara, attacked a church some months ago.

They threatened the lives of the Christians, took the Bibles from the hands of the women and warned to destroy the church if the services were not interrupted.

The pastor, who was not present at the time of the attack, guaranteed members not to be intimidated. The cults continued and 60 days later, a crowd of nearly 2,000 people, led by dozens of Buddhist monks, staged a major demonstration against Christianity.

Once again they threatened to destroy the church. The protest was well organized and the local police did not intervene. The incident videos were posted on Facebook. In other regions of the country, radicals went beyond threats.

Pastor Kamal Wasantha says his church was totally destroyed. But the Christians continued to gather in the open air. ‘No attack can stop us. We will continue to love God and our prayers will be under a tree, ‘the leader told Asia News.

He says he does not feel the hatred for those destroyed the temple. ‘We do not curse or attack them. The judgment belongs only to God, ‘he says. ‘When they came with pieces of wood, bars of iron, knives to destroy everything, we begged them not to overthrow the church, but the house of the Lord was destroyed before our eyes. We ask God to forgive them, ‘says Kamal.

Christians in Sri Lanka are asking for prayers, as they fear that their lives will be in risk in new manifestations. Sri Lanka is ranked 45th on the World List of Persecution 2017. Radical Buddhist groups are active and generally led by monks who do not accept another religion in the country.
