It can be considered that both groups may actually be the most vulnerable to the pandemic.

It is clear that the Covid-19 has hit many of the countries that might have been thought to be more prepared to deal with the virus.

It is clear that the places where the Coronavirus passes through leave traces of negative consequences.

Among the strongest are the significant increase in the unemployment rate, the economic blow to the major world powers and the shortage of basic necessities in terms of hygiene.

It has certainly caused chaos in many areas of great importance to the world’s population. But in the face of this, there are two social groups that have been marginalized.

Low-income communities

The terrible impact that the pandemic is having on these kinds of communities is already emerging.

Various media have reported on the lives that many of these people lead and have shown how the virus has ravaged all social classes in general.

Some of the inhabitants of certain sectors in different countries obtain their daily sustenance by working on the streets; this has been made difficult by the quarantine and prevention measures imposed by the authorities.

Low-income communities must face not only an economic crisis, but also a potential health crisis, as they do not have what it takes to deal with the pandemic.

Despite the bad news, a glimmer of hope is emerging as charities and volunteers help people cope.

The WHO has also issued statements to governments demanding that they think about this social group; which is currently vulnerable.

The prisons

Prisoners have been neglected by many, but it cannot be forgotten that they also need support.

The importance of preventing the virus from entering prisons has been stressed, as this could be lethal.

So far, the prisoners have become aware of the issue and understand how dangerous the Covid-19 is.

Unfortunately, they have complained that the authorities have not provided them with the necessary care.

In the United States, prisoners report that they do not have enough soap and that they have run out of paper towels; so they must clean their hands with their uniforms.

For them the situation can become quite bleak; but it cannot be forgotten that they are also people.

On the other hand, it is crucial to emphasize the importance of the actions of the authorities for the relief of both groups; that is why the people of God must not take them out of their prayers. Interceding for them is of the utmost importance and value.
