New studies in Italy are confirming that the Coronavirus in his country is already losing its lethality and potency.
According to the high medical official, Alberto Zangrillo, the Covid-19 is already “ceasing to exist” in Italy, which was badly hit by the pandemic in its initial phase.
“In reality, the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy,” said Alberto Zangrillo, head of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, according to Reuters.
“It’s not the same anymore”
In addition, he said that in the latest tests collected on swabs, it was possible to observe how the viral loads became lower “compared to those that had been carried out two months before.”
“The strength the virus had two months ago is not the same strength it has today,” said the head of the infectious disease clinic at San Martino Hospital, Matteo Bassetti.
However, a scientific group that advises the Italian government on medical matters differs from what he says, saying they are puzzled by his statements.
But Zangrillo says that the authorities “overreacted” to the virus and that his colleagues have taken a “exaggerated” position regarding a possible second wave of Covid-19 infections in the country.
“We’ve got to get back to being a normal country. Someone has to take responsibility for terrorizing the country. … I say this well aware of the tragedy for those patients who didn’t make it, but we cannot continue to give all the attention to self-proclaimed professors rather than actual virologists and hospital workers,” he said.
