Climate activist Greta Thunberg is a climate activist from Sweden. She was named author of the year for her first book by British bookshop Waterstones
“No One Is Too Small To Make A Difference” is the title of the 16-year-old activist’s work. this book is a collection of her speeches about climate change and it was published in May.
When announcing the winner, Kate McHale, Waterstones campaign manager, said:
“This year, we are delighted to name both a book that celebrates a wonderful artist, and an author whose words have had a unique impact on our world.

Thunberg was nominated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize after spearheading a global movement demanding world leaders take action over climate change. It led to co-ordinated school strikes across the globe.
The young climate activist has been speaking to world leaders and encouraging others to take part in climate strikes every Friday. She began this trend in Sweden.
She has been a influence to many people and she has spent the last year travelling the world to spread her message.
She is currently somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean on her way to the COP25 global climate conference in Spain, after it was cancelled in Chile amid ongoing anti-government protests.
