Groups of Christians were assaulted with no justice in Kensington market, Canada. Sharing the love of God and preaching the gospel of Jesus, was the reason why multitude decided to assault them.
These Christians belong to the “Torch of Christ” ministries, whose vision is “taking the light of Christ into all dark places. This includes anywhere and everywhere that evil has been allowed to cultivate and grow over time which has resulted in high levels of violent crime, occult activity, atheism and unbelief, and reprobate minds”; and this time was not an exception to what their vision is.
On June 4th, for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, they were rejected; they were received with hostility in Kensington market, which is another area within Toronto. People formed around and starting to say bad words, cursed at them, kicked their speaker and damaged it, broke their microphone relay cord, and threw hot coffee. All this happened for simply sharing “good news of salvation”.
Due to people were annoyed by the Christians presence and couldn´t stop them from talking about the Bible truths, they called the police. It was good to think that with the presence of authorities, it would be a better solution. However, nothing was done to bring justice.
A question starts to run into our heads when we hear about this type of facts. Why do authorities stand with Muslims, the LGBT, and other communities but not with Christians?
It is suppose that authorities are established to state order, but we must to understand that the prince of the world, which is Satan, has twisted the original order for people stay in darkness (2 Corinthians 4:4). Christians are the ones called to present and share the light of the world, which is Jesus: For that reason, the enemy wants to stop them from preaching about the truth that will change people’s lives. Christians are the target for the enemy, and he uses people as an obstacle to try to stop servants of God from doing what God established on His word.
This is not new because God said this would happen: “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. (1 John 15:19-20)
So, Christians, in faith, have to go on against any situation, for God is in control. He promised that he will be with his children everywhere until the end of the age. And in regards to the ones who reject Him, they will have their consequences for their actions. Christians´ work is to love God, obey Him, love their neighbors, and praying for them to be saved. Christians have to see people the same way God does.
